NADER AFSHAR
Nader is the Founder and Managing Partner of Bastiat Partners, where he leads the firm’s overall strategy, advisory services across primary capital raising, secondary transactions, and co-investment opportunities, as well as its research initiatives. Prior to creating Bastiat Partners, Nader spent nearly a decade at J.P. Morgan in New York and Europe in the investment banking division, specializing in financial institutions. Nader has experience domestically and internationally in advising family offices, venture capital firms, and hedge funds. Nader holds an MBA from Georgetown University.
JAKE FISHER
Jake is a Managing Director at Bastiat Partners, focused on Fund Placement and Co-investments. Jake brings a decade of fundraising experience to each of his engagements. He helped scale Coatue’s private market fundraising efforts between 2015 and 2020 and led the firm’s co-investment strategy. In 2020, Jake joined Delta-v Capital, successfully raising over $200M during his time at the firm. In 2023, Jake helped an independent sponsor launch its first fund, successfully raising a $100M+ strategy focused on fertility. Jake received a B.S. in Communications from Cornell University where he was also the Captain of the Cornell Men’s Swimming & Diving Team.
KARAN LALL
Karan is a Managing Director at Bastiat Partners. Karan specializes in capital raising advisory and secondary transactions. Karan has previously served as an investment professional at Golub Capital (credit investing, distressed debt, restructuring/turnarounds, venture lending) and Mill Road Capital (long/short, private equity, activist investing), and as an investment banker at Citi, covering a broad range of industries including technology, industrials, healthcare, and consumer/retail. Karan holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering & Management Sciences and B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University.
NORMAN JONES
Norman is a Managing Director at Bastiat Partners and is focused on Real Estate. His real estate portfolio of personal investments and capital raises has covered multi-family, student housing, industrial and hospitality across the US and Europe. Norman was the CEO of WealthTouch, a portfolio reporting technology platform for family offices which he sold to SEI Archway after growing reported assets from $450M to $63B under his leadership. Prior to that, Norman was a senior manager of Accenture’s strategy practice in London and San Francisco and was a founder of Connection to eBay, a joint-venture between Accenture and eBay. He started his career in Hong Kong and led the establishment of licensed Disney Stores in China in the mid 90’s. Norman is a member of YPO (Young Presidents Organization) and the founder of YPO Boulder. Norman has an MBA from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland and a BComm from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
